Growing up and finding yourself is one of my favorite parts of maturing or simply becoming older. But as a society we are losing our individuality and becoming the same person because rather unfortunately everyone needs to have the same water bottle, backpack or style. We are losing uniqueness because of social media and the fear of being judged. As a community we are taking away our individuality and becoming the same person. Over 50 million of TikTok users are under 15 years old, being that young and having access to content that may be unfiltered or inappropriate is dangerous. This leads to young teens seeing influencers and wanting what they have or becoming who they are. The ages right under fifteen are crucial to development but when you are on a screen watching the latest trends for outfits and hairstyles you begin to lose who you would have become. An example of where these trends started was back in February of 2025 when the Glow House was created by Gia Harner. Her mission, along with the other 16 members, was set to become Sisters” of the internet. But from my viewpoint, unless you want your fan base to be little girls obsessed with who you are dating and where you got your clothes from, I do not think they give big am not dissing their content but in a way I believe that the Glow House is putting pressure on young girls and making them see what they have is not enough. Instead young girls and other teens should focus on hygiene and getting good grades. Styles have all looked the same to me but I feel like no one realizes that your clothes can show who sections on social media you can always see people asking where others got their clothes from, that in itself is not what bothers me but wanting the same clothes as other people. When school began my feed was filled with “back to school outfit inspo” and every single video had the same clothes. Style is not supposed to be the same for everyone.  Individuality is special and allows you to express yourself in ways that others can see. As a community we need to stop wanting to be like everyone else and be yourself.
