Originating in 1910, the Garden City High School Sugar Beet is the oldest high school newspaper in the state of Kansas. The Sugar Beet is a self-funded, online and print bi-weekly paper produced by students. The Sugar Beet is a frequent Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Medal Winner and has also won the First-Place Award issued by the American Scholastic Press Association.
