Every school year it seems that a new game becomes popular and rises to the top among students. This year I found out that it is Clash Royale. To me, I understand why everyone loves it. It’s a fun strategy game that allows you to build your own deck to go against another and also allows someone to get better and rise to become the best and beat their friends. Clash Royale has been out for about nine years but for the past three or so years it seems to not have been as popular and another Supercell game, Brawl Stars, was more popular. This seemed to change this summer because the streamer Jynxzi started playing it and brought popularity into the amazing game. At the same time too, Brawl Stars was making very questionable updates and made the fun go away for most users. In my opinion, peak Brawl Stars dominates peak Clash Royale but right now Clash Royale has been addicting and the race to the top in a friend group has made this obsessive. There are multiple things that are stupid in the game like the very annoying decks that many players play. For example, lumberloon is one of the most broken and brain dead decks and if a player doesn’t have the proper troops, it’s unstoppable. In the same vein, any deck with the troop mega knight is also very annoying and very unskillful to play. Another big problem one could say with the game is how much pay to win it is meaning all a player has to do is spend a couple hundred dollars on the game and they are most likely going to win most matches. Personally, I haven’t spent money on the game and also I play what’s called a homemade deck that I made six or seven years ago and it’s helped me get up to 9300 trophies without changing a thing. No matter what though, it seems like the gaming company, Super Cell, always dominates the market in mobile games each year solidifying it as the best mobile game company. Their only real flop for a game so far has been Squad Busters but maybe that soon will shine like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars has. Finally, all I have to say is nerf miner.
