Multiple students have gotten their things stolen from their lockers. In the locker room students have an option to get a locker with a lock but some still claim to get their things stolen.
“I have gotten a lot of things stolen from the locker room, my Lululemon shorts got stolen and one of my shirts,” Bralyn Crandall, health sophomore, said. “They also tried to steal my shoes, but I caught them just in time. I am not letting that happen.”
But people don’t just steal clothes, if they find something laying out in the open, someone will take them.
“I left my lunch box in the locker room while I was in weights, and I go back to change and it was gone,” Macy Hands, public service sophomore, said. “But someone returned it back to me while I was in lunch. They also stole my retainers and my Doritos. I don’t know why they would steal my retainer, I thought that was a bit weird.”
This year there really hasn’t been much stealing in the locker rooms yet but last semester there were a lot more people stealing shoes, food, a retainer and more. According to the weights teacher, Luke Swedberg, this has been happening for a long time.
“People getting their things stolen in the locker room has been happening for a long time, but unfortunately I really can’t do anything about it and hunt them down but that’s why we have the school officers to help,” Swedburg said.
Again, it does come down to whether students lock their locker or not.
“Last year during the second semester of school, everything got removed from all the lockers in the girls locker room, and everything I had, got stolen, and everyone else got random things stolen,” Crandall said.
Even if you think someone wouldn’t steal it, they most certainly would.
“I only had about five dollars in my bag and someone literally took it out of my bag,” Hands said.
The locker room has always been known for the place where everything
can get stolen, some days its just a bag of chips but other days its an expensive pair of shorts.
“Even though there isn’t much we can do when things get stolen, that’s why we advise everyone to get a locker with a lock because that’s the only way things can stay
safe,” Swedberg said.
