Sports are the highlight of the week for many. The athletes themselves often go unnoticed. However, especially in less popular sports such as golf. One athlete that deserves some recognition is Brooke Savolt. Savolt has been one of the top performers of the girls golf team all season.
“My favorite part of the season was breaking 80 six times,” Savolt said.
Savolt has received numerous awards, the most notable being WAC player of the year. Savolt also took 11th at the girls golf state tournament on October 21, with a score of 163 over 36 holes. Another one of her achievements is something that most golfers only dream of. Savolt got a hole in one at the Hutchinson Invitational.
“There were a lot of bigger schools there,” Savolt said. “It definitely felt pretty good.”
Only about 2% of golfers get a hole in one every year, making Savolt’s score of only six over par all the more impressive. Savolt has had one of the most impressive athletic performances of the fall season and is looking forward to seeing what her and the rest of the girl’s golf team can accomplish next year.
