Every year at downtown Garden City there are multiple events to bring the community together. This may include parades, markets, festivals and more. Fall Fest is one of the largest events done on Main Street. The festival stretches all across the downtown area with hundreds of different vendors selling a variety of goods.
”I love the atmosphere, it’s so busy but also united in a way. I love seeing all the booths and performances,” Chandler Hass Powers, Arts and Comm. junior, said.
Not only are there tents set up selling thousands of different products but there are a number of performances for people to enjoy. One of the most popular events is the dance performance done by Steps Dance School.
“We’ve been working ever since summer started. We are doing all sorts of different styles of dance and I really enjoy them,” Aimar Romero, freshman, said.
These hard working dancers are preforming a number of songs including Feel it still and Carrying the Banner.
“I sell clay earrings and I’ve been at Fall fest for the past four years.” Jodi Vargas History Teacher said.
Make sure to keep a lookout for
“The Garden City Vocal Jazz choir is performing many different songs during Fall Fest. We’ve been practicing since the start of school and I really hope everyone comes and sees us perform,” Hass Powers said.
There are other performances as well with different singers, and all sorts of shows and stage fights.
”I think its a great way to involve and join everyone in Garden City and outside of it too. I see hundreds of people at a time and there are so much foods, drinks, accessories, and shops to choose from. I love seeing my students enjoy themselves with friends and family,” Vargas said.
Fall Fest falls on Saturday Sept. 20th this year. Do feel free to support the different programs.
